Day Three: Tools for Digging; One word at a time

The Busy Mom's Guide to Bible Study

Day 3:

Tools for Digging: One word at a time

Auditory Learners:

1.      Typically love to hear the sound of their own voice—Talk a lot
2.      Love acting and being on stage

Lisa points out the auditory learners learn more and retain more if they hear the information and not just read it.  So you’re asking yourself how an auditory person is going to read the bible.  Lisa helps us out with that.

               1.      Read the verse aloud and loudly
               2.      Read it again and stress the first word for meaning.
               3.      Read it again and stress the second word
               4.      Again with the third word.

If you do this every time you read the verse and focus on a different word you bring more meaning to the verse.  Reread the verse till you punctuated each word.  Then reflect on it.  She gives this verse to try out this type of learning.

Delight yourself in the Lord,
and he will give you the desires of your heart.
Psalm 37:4

Maybe I am a little bit of an auditory learner.  I did this exercise and really loved it.  How did you like it?
