When life handed me a Canadian Husband, Two Energetic Kids and a Dog with ADHD,
I made myself some Organized Chaos!

Life can be busy.  I don't know about anyone else but sometimes it feels like it is really easy to burn both sides of the candlestick!  I felt that way on Sunday.  I was tired and just felt sick.  My hubby was sweet enough to let me sleep a little bit in the late afternoon.  It did help a lot but you know laughter always makes me feel better so here we go for some mommy humor.

For the Mommies with young ones..

LOL...this reminds me of my kiddos!!

The the Mom's who have the hardest jobs!  Stay at home mommies!!

For those moms that work outside the home.  Another VERY Hard job!

Then of course this is what really is the best at the end of the day!!!  LOVE THIS Cartoon!!

God is truly great and he gave us so many gifts.  One is laughter!

A joyful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.
Proverbs 17:22

He will yet fill your mouth with laughter, and your lips with shouting.
Job 8:21

And Sarah said, “God has made laughter for me; everyone who hears will laugh over me.”
Genesis 21:6

God is great and we need to be joyful in all we do!  Allow the stresses of life and the business become laughter and joyous!

Have a great week!

Teacher Appreciation

For Teacher Appreciation Week I got to make signs for the 4 teachers and then staff at my kiddo's Elementary.  Here is what I did and some really easy things you can do for your teachers at your school.

This is for my sons teacher!!  He is a male and of course the boys
loved this!

Loving our whole staff!  We are truly lucky to have them in our school!

Our gym teacher is awesome!  She really has a huge heart for the kids!

We love our kindergarten teacher!
She is a blessing to the kids and families!

We are lucky to have a speech teacher that is amazing!  She is great and really makes learning fun!

I love being a mom! There are so many joys, stresses, laughter, tears, love, frustrations, proud moments, sad moments and what I like to call my mommy fails!

Now I look at what feelings I have "BLESSED" my mother with, my granny with and my husband has blessed his mother with.  Ok, maybe blessed isn't always the word they would have used but it makes me feel better about what we put our mom's through. :)  I think Kev and I would both say we gave our parents a lot of challenges and we kept our mother's lives interesting.  I am so blessed for my mom allowing me to live past my teens and into my twenties and for my mother-in-law who raised a man that I can call my true love.

Being a mom is such a privilege and a true gift from God.  Sometimes at 8:15am, when our oldest forgot to tell you he needs a sack lunch and then the youngest forgot he had to read two poems to you and the dog has decided that he wants to see what kind of things we thew in the trash that day and well, we are suppose to be out of the house like NOW--We forget how much motherhood is a wonderful thing!

As mom's we put so much pressure on ourselves to be "Perfect"!  Mom's that is impossible!  Who cares the floors didn't get mopped or your garden isn't the best one on the block.  Who care that your kid has a melt down in aisle 4 at Wal-Mart or your forget a simple mommy duty!  We are human and as mother's we need tear down all these very, very unrealistic expectations of what "Mothers" should be and just LOVE on each and every one of our kids and enjoy them for who they are!!  Be a solid support for those Mother's around us.  Because I don't know about you ladies but it is so nice to have a mother reach out and give you a
helping hand!

I found this and thought it was perfect!!

you can't go to the store with me."

My Mother taught me MEDICINE...

My Mother taught me ESP...
"Put your sweater on;
don't you think that I know when you're cold?"

My Mother taught me TO MEET A CHALLENGE...
"What were you thinking?
Answer me when I talk to you...
Don't talk back to me!"

My Mother taught me HUMOR...
"When that lawn mower cuts off your toes,
don't come running to me."

My Mother taught me how to BECOME AN ADULT...

 you'll never grow up.

My mother taught me ABOUT SEX...

I love you

  1. Do you say I love you a lot?
  2. Do you say it to your kids?
  3. To your husband?
  4. To your extened family?
  5. How often do you say it?
  6. How often do you hear it?
  7. Do you show your love?
  8. Do you have a signal of some kind that you can do across the room to tell your loved one that you love them?

The love word is used a lot in my home!!  My 6 year old loves to say it to me!!  My 9 year old still will yell across the yard he loves me even in front of his friends!!  My husband says it several times a day.  I am so blessed to be loved.  I tend to say it a lot to them also.  I am sometimes have an overwhelming amount of love for my family.  So not just saying it but showing love is something I do quite a bit.

I believe we all have a love tank.

I also believe that God wants us to help keep others love tanks full!  Feeling that love from God is a blessing and he wants us to share that with others.  We need to be a living example of Gods love.  I always say that I may not like things but love is different.  God does not like everything I do, actually he probally doesn't like a lot of what I do but His love is forever and His love is so big.

The bible says...
A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another.

We love because he first loved us. If anyone says, “I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen cannot love God whom he has not seen. And this commandment we have from him: whoever loves God must also love his brother.         1 John 4:19-21

Different ways to show you I love you!!

To your Spouse...

To your Kids...

So today think about showing your love. Not just saying it but showing love through different ways.

“Oh, with all that I’ve done wrong I must have done something right. To deserve your love every morning and butterfly kisses – I couldn’t ask God for more, man this is what love is.”
~ Bob Carlisle from “Butterfly Kisses”

My kid would never...

For the last few weeks my kids and I have been watching Dateline NBC, My kid would never...

This show has been really good learning experience for not only my kids but myself.  It is a hidden camera show that sees how kids deal with different situations.  For example, cheating, discrimination, strangers, and so forth.

Tonight was on discrimination.  Skyler had a harder time understanding this topic but Tanner understood.  As he is intently watching this show he looks at Kev and says "That is why they say you can't judge a book by its cover!"  This really made my heart melt and tears start to form.

How do you think your kids would react to different situations.  Watch a few of these clips and think about what we are teaching our kids or what we are forgetting to teach them.

Mommy/Wife Fails

So I was thinking today about all the times I have failed as a mommy or a wife!  Not so much in a negative, "YOU SCREW UP" kind of way but in a way you can kind of giggle now that you lived through it!!  As Mom's and Wives or even as just humans we do some pretty goofy or even stupid things!

So here are a few of my Mom of the Year Moments!!

1.  Tried a pinterest activity and nearly started my kitchen on fire!!  Ask if you need the whole story!

2.  Walked into the doctors with my oldest and told the doctor my child was just being a drama queen and his hand isn't broke!  Ooops...it was fractured!

3.  Dressed my preschooler---yeah he could dress himself but it was faster if I just did it!  So I got him dressed and sent him off to school.  When I picked him up the teacher asked me if their was reasoning to putting my kiddos jeans on backwards!  How on earth did I manage to buckle his jeans backwards and not even know!?

4.  I was on a mission to save money and my kids haircuts were something I though I could do on my own.  Both of my kids have a head shape that are a little odd shaped if they are bald.  The reason I know that is because at one time in both of their lives I thought I could cut their hair!  FAIL!

5.  Skyler vs Spike---This is a video of my little one.  We were trying to get him over the fear of mascots.  So my brother was a substitute mascot for a local football team.  He had to work at a promotion and so we thought this would be a good opportunity for my little one to see his Uncle go into the bathroom  and come out as Spike.  It didn't go as planned!  Click link...Mommy Fail

6.  The tooth fairy is not reliable at all!  Every time the tooth fairy has to come to our house I fall asleep early and then the kids wanna know why the dang tooth fairy forgot to stop by!  So I have to go into a explanation about how busy she can get and how the tooth fairy knows that Tanner or Skyler will understand if she can't make it that night.  Come on tooth fairy!  FAIL!

7.  Love having dance parties with my boys!  One of our dance parties got out of hand.  I was laying on the floor doing the superman with one of the boys and the other one decided to do a seat drop on my nose.  Yeah I broke it!

8.  Just finishing up with bath time, I was walking out of the bathroom with my son in my hands.  The floor was went and I slipped and grabbed the towel rack on the way down, which broke.  Managed to save the kid but broke a rib!

See this is just 8 of hundreds of stupid things I have done as both a wife and a mother.  We are humans and we all do some things that may not have been funny at the time but we can get a giggle out of it now!

I know you all have Mommy/Wife Fails!  Share them!!
It is ok, we know that we are not perfect!
We are just humans that strive to be the best for our families we can and
we keep falling short!

Ladies share your Mommy/Wife Stories!
