I want to be a Proverbs 31 Woman

A woman's heart should be so hidden in God that a man has to seek Him just to find her.

10 A wife of noble character who can find? 

   She is worth far more than rubies. 


Virtuous; She does not keep record of wrong doings,  she has strength, rare, influential.  Appreciation towards husband and the other way around.

11 Her husband has full confidence in her 
   and lacks nothing of value. 

Faithful, trustworthy, a wife, woman of God but she desire is to her husband, to know his mind so she may adapt to it.  Devoted companion.  

12 She brings him good, not harm, 
   all the days of her life. 

Committed, loyal, does not delight in evil, constant commitment to do her husband good.  Pleasant attitude

13 She selects wool and flax 
   and works with eager hands. 

Active, applies herself in a positive manner.  She does not fear "getting her hands dirty". Industrious, creative, knowledgeable. Hardworking

14 She is like the merchant ships, 
   bringing her food from afar. 

Good shopper, she makes sure all needs are taken care of.  All supplies are available for her family.  Devoted provider, diligent. 

15 She gets up while it is still night; 
   she provides food for her family 
   and portions for her female servants. 

Early riser, organized, overseer, concerned about families well-being.  

16 She considers a field and buys it; 
   out of her earnings she plants a vineyard. 

Enterprising, hardworking, prudent, does not rush a buy, she does not borrow money to run a debt.  She is smart with the homes earnings. Investor

17 She sets about her work vigorously; 
   her arms are strong for her tasks. 

Hardworking, she does everything with all her might.  Both physical and spiritual strength.  

18 She sees that her trading is profitable, 
   and her lamp does not go out at night. 

Late retirer (stays up till work is done), always perseveres, she turns value, planner.  Careful planning her own time.  Sensible, has common sense, realistic, and a stewardship.  

19 In her hand she holds the distaff 
   and grasps the spindle with her fingers. 

Dexterous, hand spinning, hardworking

20 She opens her arms to the poor 
   and extends her hands to the needy. 

Generous, compassionate, hardworking, kind hearted, serves the poor with her own hands and does it cheerfully.  

21 When it snows, she has no fear for her household; 
   for all of them are clothed in scarlet. 

Secure, always protects, faithful, prepared

22 She makes coverings for her bed; 
   she is clothed in fine linen and purple. 

She is thrifty so she does not waste her households money on fancy and expensive stuff.  She is not vain; she does not spend too much dressing herself but still well groomed.   

23 Her husband is respected at the city gate, 
   where he takes his seat among the elders of the land. 

Respectful, domestic comfort contributes to her husband's advancements.   She adds to her husbands reputation and makes him happy which makes him make strong choices and honorable ones.  She makes her husband feel like a rich man.  

24 She makes linen garments and sells them, 
   and supplies the merchants with sashes. 

Industrious, talented, active for the welfare of her family.  She prepares ahead for the family.  Trusts the Lord and applies that trust to her busy hands!  Successful

25 She is clothed with strength and dignity; 
   she can laugh at the days to come. 

Honorable, hopeful, gentleness, strength, dignified. She has confidence in hard times and trials.  Deals with others honorably. Good sense of humor

26 She speaks with wisdom, 
   and faithful instruction is on her tongue. 

Wise, kind, her tongue is the law of kindness.  Her conversations are wise, gentle, and kind.  She is a wise and loving counselor.  You can tell her eyes are fixed on the Lord.  Teaches

27 She watches over the affairs of her household 
   and does not eat the bread of idleness. 

Wise manager of her home.  Keeps her house spiritually clean.  She takes her home life serious.   Not lazy, and she is very observant.  Attention to detail, 

28 Her children arise and call her blessed; 
   her husband also, and he praises her: 

Blessed, not self seeking, she receives the respect and praise she deserves.  Admiration of her family. Her family prays for her and thanks God for her.  Praise

29 “Many women do noble things, 
   but you surpass them all.” 

Does not envy, is excellent, her deeds are plain for everyone to see.  

30 Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; 
   but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised. 

God fearing, in not proud, rejoices in the truth.  Reverential and Moral

31 Honor her for all that her hands have done, 
   and let her works bring her praise at the city gate.


Praiseworthy, does not boast, love never fails, she eventually reaps the benefits of all done. The Lord is the head of her life.
