Bullying

“If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated Me first.” John 15:18

This topic makes me sad and sick to my stomach.  I hurt for these children and adults whom bully and are the victims of bullying.  So you ask why am I hurting for those who bully.  The reason is because they are lost and they don't have Jesus in their heart!  So I pray for them to find Jesus and for them to find love.  As for the victims I am aching for them and I pray for their strength and for God to take their trials.

Children

160,000 children miss school each day due to fear of other students

1 in 7 students in grade K-12 either bully or they are victims to bullying
Estimate: 30% of children or 3.2 million youths are victims

1 out of every 10 students who drop out of school do so because of repeated bullying

30% of all child suicides can be directed to bullying

42% of kids are bullied online and then 1 in 4 kids have had repeated bullying

85% of girls and 76% of boys have been sexually harassed in some form and only 18% of those have been by adults.

Adults

Over 50% of adults have reportedly experienced some form of violence at work, home or in         the community

15% of all violent crimes are workplace related

500,000 workers miss about 1,751,000 work days annually due to work place bullying

What does God say about bullying?

2 Timothy 1:7; For God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control

1 John 3:15; everyone who hates his brother is a murderer and you know that no murderer has eternal life abiding in him.

Matthew5:11; “Blessed are you when others revile you and persecute you and utter all kinds of evil against you falsely on my account.

Ephesians 4:29; Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear.

Proverbs 22:10; For the righteous falls seven times and rises again, but the wicked stumble in times of calamity.

Deuteronomy 31:6; be strong and courageous.  Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the Lord your God who goes with you.  He will not leave you or forsake you.”

Psalm 82:4; Rescue the weak and the needy; deliver them from the hand of the wicked.”

Matthew 5:39: “Turn the other cheek”
This does not mean that we cannot pray for God to defend us.

Psalms 18:3; I call upon the Lord, who is worthy to be praised, and I am saved from my enemies.

Ephesians 5:32-6:9:  It is a husband’s job to defend their family, businesses and nation
So PARENTS we are responsible before God to protect their family from these situations.
